Standards for Social Work Practice with Groups Commission on Group Work in Social Work Education |
Call for News and other contributions for each issue of the Social Work with Groups NewsletterShare with your colleagues what you have done, what you have read in journals, magazines, and newspapers, and what you have seen on television or heard on the radio. We need reviews, commentary, advertisements, practice vignettes, short book reviews, queries, reports on member activities, etc. Be creative, too. Three issues per year of SWwG Newsletter iae published each year, January, May, and August. Deadlines for the respective issues are December 15, April 15, and July 15. We expect reports from the board, committees, chapters, affiliates, organizing units, Symposia, and other operating units of AASWG. Remember that the next issue may be severasl months and seasons later. So, anticipate programs, etc. Try to write as though the first day of the month of the issue already happened. If information develops after that, please send it along anyway. “It isn't finished until it's finished”. If information arrives in time and there is space, we'll use it. Just get it written, and keep it coming. We can make the issue as good as the news you send. Of course, when one issue is finished we are already well under way already for the next with many files and stories received and some completed. If possible, send your news in the texts of e‑mail messages. E‑mail attachments in text or Word are second best, then fax, or postal service. We look forward to hearing from you. Help make each issue the best issue yet. We print all the “current news and provide a cumulative resource for group workers everywhere.” Many thanks, John H. Ramey, Editor, Social Work with Groups Newsletter, AASWG, Inc.
