Programs/workshops for 2007
KY Social Work, MFT, & Art Therapy Board approved CEUs
Professionals and students interested in group work are welcome
Feb 15: “Grief Work in Teen Groups”
presented by Joe Ferry, MA, ATR, CAPT
6:30 – 8:30 pm at Bridges Center, 2120 Newberg Rd
Free for members, $10 for non-members 2 CEUs
Grief Work in Teen Groups
This program will be didactive and experientially interactive. Mr. Ferry will
present background theory and rationale in a developmental context. He will
demonstrate with participants how to use expressive methods with teens to bring
forward their grief and loss concerns and work with them in the group.
Objectives: participants will gain a beginning understanding of (1) how
adolescents experience and respond to death and (2) how a thoughtfully
constructed group experience can offer support through their grieving process.
Mar 16 or 17: “Using Solution Focused Techniques in Groups”
Presented by Marcia Cohen, PhD, University of Maine

April 26: “Ethics and Group Work” Co-sponsored by KY NASW
Presented by Alison H Johnson, LCSW, LMFT
11 am – 2 pm Brooklawn Treatment Center

May : “Working with Self-medicating, Cutting, and Eating Disorders”
Presented by Hilda Nance from Shades of Hope Treatment Center
Free for members, $10 for nonmembers 1.5 CEUS
