Association for the Advancement of Social Work with Groups, Inc., Central Florida Chapter

AASWG Central Florida’s Chapter has been busy this fall. We have elected another student representative for our chapter, Jovanne Fourcand. We are very happy that she will be joining the board! Welcome Jovanne.  On October 17th, the Central Florida Chapter of the AASWG supported the UCF Alumni Association in sponsoring a weekend seminar featuring Dr. Sophia Dziegielewski, the Associate Director for Research of the School of Social Work. Dr. Dziegielewski’s presentation on "The DSM 5: What to Expect" attracted a sold-out crowd. The AAWSG display was packed with information-seekers at the day-long event!    On October 25th, Dr. Mark Smith of Barry University visited the UCF campus for a special presentation on "Claiming Our Future: Developing a Youth-Driven, Narrative Group Program for Urban, Multi-Ethnic, LGBTQ Youth."   We send our sincere thanks to Dr. Smith for his fantastic lecture, which was delivered to a standing-room-only crowd.
